School-Based Mental Health Clinicians
September 2, 2019
ChildSavers is seeking licensed mental health clinicians (LCSW, LPC, and LMFT) to provide school-based mental health services as part of our School Based Services Team—an exciting and innovative opportunity in Behavioral Health Practice. The school-based mental health team has established a rich partnership with Richmond Public Schools to become a leading provider of outpatient trauma therapy to students and families enrolled in public school settings. Because the school-based mental health team is embedded in public school settings 4-5 days/week, rich learning opportunities exist regarding consultation with educators and administrators, as well as collaboration with partner agencies and community stakeholders.
School-Based Mental Health Clinicians receive ongoing clinical supervision by specialized supervisors in individual and group formats at no charge. Yearly professional development funds and multiple clinical in-service training opportunities support clinicians in maintaining state licensure and pursuing specialized certifications with a focus on play, art, sand, and expressive therapies. This position offers licensed clinicians a chance to deepen their clinical expertise and guide our community’s children through life’s critical moments.
ChildSavers offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, health savings account, 403b retirement plan, short and long term disability insurance, life insurance, sick and personal leave, PTO, 12 paid holidays, and EAP access.
Education and Experience Requirements
Ideal candidates possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have experience with community-based and outpatient mental health with children and families in urban environments, and have skills congruent with trauma-informed care, trauma-focused treatment, family therapy, and play therapy. Exceptional candidates will also possess experience in educational settings and knowledge of institutional capacity-building.
Located in a historic building at the top of Church Hill overlooking Shockoe Bottom, ChildSavers is proudly celebrating its 96th year serving children and families of Richmond with our diverse workforce. We seek to provide comprehensive mental health and childhood development services that holistically embrace the needs of children and those who care for and educate them. Come be a part of our team and make a difference in the life of a child.
