The Virginia Infant Toddler Specialist Network strives to improve the quality of care and education our youngest children receive in centers and family day homes throughout Virginia. Infant Toddler Specialists provide training, workshops, and coaching to help early care providers and professionals increase their knowledge and skill levels. This supports the mission of providing the best possible learning environment for the infants and toddlers in care. There are four types of services specialists offer:
- Coaching: on-site consultation services including mentoring, resources and support using quality improvement plans
- Training: training for early childhood caregivers, teachers, directors, and parents
- Technical Assistance: support and resources to help child care providers achieve excellence in early care for infants and toddlers
- Professional Development: courses and certifications designed for early childhood caregivers
